Fire Opal is the crystalline form of opal. Like other opal forms, it has silicic acid with high water content. Being the member of semi precious stones, the gemstone is composed in levels that were spherical to generate three-dimensional construction to make intensity of colour and the radiance in the rock. It has an interior structure which causes diffraction of light and consequently forms a variety of colours. Determined by the conditions under which the stone is formed, fire opal displays different colours from yellow to orange, and at times red which fire opal, the name, comes from. The more extreme its body colour is - in other words, the more 'fire' it has- the more valuable a Fire Opal is going to be. The locations where fire opal is mined are Honduras, Guatemala, the United States, Canada, Australia, Ethiopia and Turkey although the most valuable fire opals are mostly discovered in Brazil.
